Aberdaron Village, Gwynedd, old County of Gwynedd.Description: Village with long sandy beach at end of Lleyn Peninsula. AONB: Lleyn Peninsula. Buildings: Pilgrims to Bardsey Island rested in 14th-century house now cafÇ/gift shop. Nearby Plas yn Rhiw (National Trust) a small manor house, medieval with Tudor/Georgian additions. Ornamental gardens. Churches: St Hywyn's Church by seashore has 12th-century nave and choir, 16th-century aisle. Founded circa AD600. Ruins of St Mary's Church on headand where pilgrims prayed for safe crossing to Bardsey Island. Famous people: Birthplace of linguist Richard Robert Jones (Dic Aberdaron), 1780-8143. Geological feature: Jagged cliffs of Braich-y-Pwll, the `Land's End' of North Wales. Village with long sandy beach at end of Lleyn Peninsula.
